01 The unit size for the center design is 1/16 of a 3/4 inch tile. With patterns like these, the first step is establishing the scale of the tiles to be used.

02 The most rewarding part completed. I used white mortar to keep the light colored tiles as brilliant as possible. They not 100% opaque, so the mortar and grout influence their final color.
